internet - December 20th 2010, 09:37 AM

i know ive posted about this before, but i feel my addiction to the internet is getting worse as just now my laptop would not connect me to the internet, so i started to yell at it , call it names and shout a few cuss words at it, and then when it still wouldnt connect me to the internet i started to shout at my mum, and punch walls. so im just wondering is there anything i can do to try and beat my internet addiction, im worried im getting worse and worse, i literally cried just now at the thought of my mum taking away my laptop, and suggesting i ring up the computer guy and get him to fix it and when my mum said he may not be able to fix it today i began to cry. its almost like the internet is a drug a highly addictive drug, and if i cant get online i go mad. what do i do ?

the girl who always seemed unbreakble finally
BROKE
the girl who seemed strong
CRUMBLED
the girl who always laughed
CRIED
the girl who never stopped trying finally
GAVE UP

she let her fake smile fade and as she did a tear rolled down her cheek and she whispered

' i can't do this anymore'

I know how you feel. I've cried over not being able to get online before too.

One thing I found that helped me. I wasn't even trying to avoid my laptop. My mom just got me out of the house, everyday, and all day. We came home late, and I was too tired to go online, so I went straight to bed. After about a week of this. When I finally did get a chance to go online, I didn't know what to do. I was bored of the internet.

So who knows if it will work for you, but just try doing something else you enjoy that doesn't involve your laptop. Hopefully like me you'll become less addicted and will see you don't need it to breathe.
Hope this helps.

I try my best to help, but that doesn't always mean I will be helpful.

wow, sadly when i have no money and hardly a job the internet for me is my distraction. ive tried things like laserquest, ect but nothing seems to work aswell as the internet, in england where i live theres internet rehab clinics but i dont really know if my addiction to the internet is servere enough to go to internet rehab clinic/centre.

You could always check into it and ask? I'm sure they could help.
