Keeping on track? - September 12th 2012, 01:44 AM

How do you guys keep yourself on track?! I can't seem to keep up with things I commit to. I always seem to gradually stop or quit! How do you keep yourself motivated?!

I'm a naturally motivated person most of the time, so it comes naturally to me. Don't have to use any techniques or whatever, I just go for it. It's kinda hard to explain. Saying that, here's a few things that through experience, I've found out can help:

*Imagine where you'd like to be in the future. No limits. I can be anything that's physically possible. Say to yourself, "If I keep working hard, this is where I'll be." If you do, you will.
*Bye a big bag of sweets. Keep a notebook of what you need to do and when it needs to be done by. Tick the tasks off as you complete them. Give yourself a few sweets/one of the mini-packs every time you do so. Of course, any form of reward can go instead of this - pages in a book, and episode of X television show...I'm sure you get the idea.
*Instead of instantly quitting/starting something, set a date in the future for when you're going to start/quit. In the run up to that date, get hyped up. Get excited. Get motivated. Write out how you're going to tackle the issue. Plan it all. By delaying the beginning, it'll add extra significance to the event and it'll be harder to break it in the future.
