Horse-riding exam - September 22nd 2018, 08:26 PM

Tomorrow I'm taking a horse-riding exam that I've been preparing to for the past month. I'm really nervous. It's gonna last from 9 am to around 2 or 3 pm, but I need to be at the stable at 7.
I think I've put a lot of effort into preparation. I hope that the horses cooperate, everything goes smoothly and that I pass.

Good luck!

Do my best at everything I can to live a happy, perfect life.

Happy life won't come by being happy everyday. Struggle and always work hard.

Forgive other's imperfection, they will work hard about it once I point it out to them, just like what I should be doing.

On the other hand, never tolerate with my own mediocrity. Never slack and always strive improvement.

Never settle. Never give up.

Re: Horse-riding exam - September 23rd 2018, 10:46 AM

I failed at the first stage. My ride was the very first and the horse I was riding, Lotnia, was dead scared of the judges' table covered with a fluttering tablecloth. I did everything I could, but she wouldn't go near and they whistled elimination. There was another girl supposed to take the exam on Lotnia and after my turn she decided to change the horse. I'm bitterly angry at the fact that she was able to change the horse, yet the judges didn't give me another chance on a different horse as well, even though it was clear it was neither mine nor the horse's fault.

Because of failing the first stage I wasn't allowed to take the other three. I put a lot of time, money and effort in order to prepare for the exam. I feel so awful now.

Sorry to hear that you failed. It wasn't yours or the horse's fault either. Are you allowed to take the exam again? It seems unfair that you had to fail while someone else could change horses.

Hi Sue,

I'm so sorry that you failed the test. Are you able to reach out and mention that you feel it's a bit unfair that you weren't able to change horses like the other girl?

Try not to put yourself down, it's not your fault that you failed. I know it's hard to think like that, but you have to try.

I'm sure you would have done fantastic if your horse was agreeing with you.

Thank you for all your replies. Last week I did great during my training. I'm planning to retake the exam in spring.

Sorry for the super late reply, but I am so sorry to hear you failed the exam. It sounds very unfair how they wouldn't let you retry.

Best of luck in the spring.
