yeah,it happens to everyone, like me. we all make mistakes that we want to fix,or simply just the things about us. the things we do.
i don't really have an example of my own,but i don't have such big or an ego either. i know i make mistakes. just that i know it will get better by itself. like people that are socially anxious have a goal to talk to other people and stop being shy. i am one of them. ![]() |

Hehheh, changing myself in search of perfection isn't just something that i do, its the way in which i live. Because my ambitions are so incredibly huge, I know i must perfect myself in order to achieve them...
For that matter, its because of this, that i've recently dubbed myself, mentally invincible. I now know for sure that I can deflect any saddness, guilt or anger away from my heart. Mentally speaking, nothing can hurt me. Btw nice name ~BPS ![]() |

What, Perpetual Self-Actualisation?
I think a certain breed of people (myself included) will always want to "improve" themselves. Recently I've started actively making changes in my life, and that's been helping, but seriously, will we ever be perfect? It's perhaps best to focus on what we are now. If only I could...

I think everyone does. Life is a constant attempt to better yourself. No one is ever and can ever be perfect, but part of growing is constantly looking at parts of yourself and deciding what you want to change. It doesn't mean changing yourself or your personality, it means bettering it. Finding the best version of yourself.

hrmmm now what was that saying....
Oh thats right. Aim for the moon and you'll at least land amoung the stars.... or something like that. Needless to say, the one who aims for perfection, might not neccessarily become perfect, but he/she will come close, and a heck of alot closer than the one who didn't even try. Speaking of, theres a waste managment centre here in the ACT, it aim to recyle 100% of all the recylceable waste by 2010. All the other states aimed for lower, more achievable goals. In the end it was the act which reycled about 77% of its waste while the other countries got more around 50%. Thus proving my theory. ![]() |

I have about a million different goals set for myself that I want to reach in order to make myself a better person. I disagree that aiming for perfection is a good way to go about this, though. When you try to be perfect, you aren't at all proud of yourself when you start to become a better person. The achievements you make are often not enough when you compare them to your main goal. Setting your goals too high will only set you up for disappointment instead of forcing you to be proud of yourself for what you do accomplish. Setting reasonable goals, however, is a healthy thing to do, and it's a good way to improve your self esteem and to give more purpose to your life.
