American Teen Miss Pageant -
May 30th 2011, 06:03 PM
One of my goals is to be in the American Teen Miss Pageant. I would love to be able to do it because it would help boost my confidence talking to people. I'm extremely shy, so it would be a great experience. I also really want to represent my state (Wisconsin <3). The only thing holding me back is money. My family doesn't have much money, and I don't know if my mom would be willing to pay that much for a pageant. I'm really not sure how I'm going to do it. I've always wanted to be in a pageant, and this is probably my only opporitunity. Does anyone know how I could try to persuade my family into letting me do it?
I don't ever wanna feel like I did that day. Take me to the place I love; take me far away. ~Under the Bridge~ |

For most pageants, you get people in your area to sponsor you - local businesses, individual people... Whoever you can to help you. I would contact the pageant itself and ask them what you should do. You don't need to be rich to be in a pageant. Most pageants are scholarship programs as well, so if you win and get a scholarship, then it's less money toward college! You COULD try to push that angle as well.
Contact the pageant and ask them for their suggestions on how to find sponsors. Do a little research and see how much it'll cost (including application/competition fees, wardrobe (estimate), traveling expenses, etc.), then start contacting those sponsors! “Don't get too comfortable with who you are at any given time. You may miss the opportunity to become who you want to be." ~Jon Bon Jovi ![]() |
