Music - December 26th 2011, 11:14 PM

All I think about is music. I play the clarinet and sing and I'm teaching myself to play the piano. All my heroes are musical figures and I listen to anything I can get my hands on. I'm currently in the 6th form and changed my subjects after the first year, but I'm going to drop out. I'm going to college to study sports because I'm decent at it and will enjoy it, but even when this seems so promising all I think about is music and the future I could have if I focussed on it. My parents don't want me to study sports but they would hate music even more, it's like I'm between a rock and a hard place.

Anyway my goal is to record some songs once I find a guitarist or pianist who will work with me and see what happend from there. I'm still going to study sports and will be happy if I end up there but deep down I know music is where I really belong.

I'm somewhat jealous and would encourage you to do whatever you can to keep active with your musical talent. I would have loved to've been good enough to study music at university level, but I had more talent in the theory of music than the actual performance. You should look into local wind bands or small orchestras you could get involved in, I've heard they're very rewarding and can lead to some great opportunities. A musical life is never a boring one.

Hey,

The one thing I will say to you is, strive towards what YOU want to do and what YOU want to achieve. If your parents don't like it, then so be it; it isn't about them, it's about you. If you feel like music is what you want to do then go for it! Good luck with recording your songs and if you pursue it further; good luck with that too! Music is a really good thing to get into.

Just keep following the heartlines on your hand.
