hmm i guess its a good thing - February 8th 2010, 10:08 AM

guys,
this website has helped me a lot, i am glad that everyone is willing to help each other. i have recently posted about my sexual abuse how i was told i have an eating disorder, those were the two main problems in my life. now they are off my chest, however i am not sure that is such a good thing ....this website has got me thinking, every second of everyday . like i cant get my mind off it . sometimes it causes me to think very bad thoughts :[
i am trying to help my self and with the help of everyone on teenhelp.org i am sure this will be possible. i just feel like if i had never came on this web site & posted the sexual abuse & eating disorder i would not be thinking about it so often. i dont think i like always having these things on my mind... i am just very confused.... help would be greatly appreciated:]

Hey there Tori.

It's hard dealing with all these thoughts being stuck in your mind all the time. I know everyone is different and everyone heals in their own way, but I truly believe in the power of talking and letting things out.

I guess one thing I want to add is that, while TH is a great place to talk and let things out, it is mostly a listening service and I really want to encourage you to seek help in person. While you are struggling with these thoughts and such, it's a really good idea to have someone trained to help you work through things and find ways to cope and handle everything you are growing through.

It's okay to be confused and not know where to go sometimes. Don't be afraid to reach out for some help.

I hope you are okay right now. You can PM me if you ever need to talk.
<3 Emily

I know how u feel, my thoughts about this site confuse me still.
I like coming on here, because i can write about my depression/SH/Anxiety, hurtful past...a whole host of things.
sometimes people comment, alot of time they dont.
but when they do, it ususally helpful, and supportive, and makes me know that im not alone, not in everything thats happen, and also when i feel that recovery is possible.

However when i told a threapist that i was on a site like this, she didnt like it, she said that sometimes you get people on these sort of site that are liars, and people who just want to take the piss, and be nasty. And in my 3ish years on this site, i've only encountered it twice, but to be honest i told a mod, and it was deal with real quick.
Also, sometimes people arent helpful, sometimes i get a bit mad at being told that 'eventually things will work out fine' but thats my short temper i guess.
And finally, i have a bad habbit of going hunting for, like, sad/triggering stories and images like from youtube...and sometimes theres something on this site like that, even thought its been labeled, it doesnt matter.

I wish i had more 'friends' on the site so i didnt just ramble!
depending on what mood im in i think about things to much too.
but i dont really think that for me its because im on this site

xxx

I think I would feel better about it if my posts didn't come up in Google. Now I'm always really careful what I post in case someone important comes across it.

Well, yes, but it helps...a lot. I've never looked at things in other perspectives and I'm grateful for every minute of it.

yeah, but you have to know specifically what to search for. So, for example if you post someone's name and then run a search for them it will come up.

Hey there,

It really sucks when things get stuck in your head, and it's not really because of TH, but because you talked about them. You got to keep letting it out, talking and thinking it through, and trying to relax and get help, and then the thoughts go away. You could also try distracting yourself. But I have found, that if you keeping thinking about it, it really means you need to try to work through it, either on your own, or with help.

And yes, posts come up on google. However, as long as you do not put your last name, location, or e-mail address on the forums or your profile, the chances of someone finding you is slim to none. It can happen, but they'd have to be an extremely good guesser, and you could always deny it if you want.

She whispered to her own reflection "I will be strong."

Sometimes things just happen.
