how to deal with this... - November 8th 2010, 02:02 AM

This thread has been labeled as triggering by the original poster or by a Moderator. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

So...I'm not too sure where to start...Um...Well...I want/seriously need to get help. I don't want to tell my mom, and the guy is supposedly in jail. I'm trying to stay with my boyfriend, but I'm so afraid that everything is going to happen again. I'm scared. I need to talk to somebody, but I'm afraid to say it outload anymore. I call the guy who raped me Joe. I'm not sure how old he was, and I know for sure that it's not his real name. I have no idea what his real name is. I can't keep asking people on here what to do because I know I need actual help. But I'm so afraid to talk to an adult. If I tell my mom, I'm afraid she's going to hit me like she did when she found out I wasn't a virgin anymore...I need an e-mail contact or a way to im a therapist or couslor. What do I do? How can I deal with this? I know he isn't coming back until he finds me alone, but what do I do then? Please help me...Give me a way to stop my thoughts...The images...Everything...

Hey Prudence,

I'm sorry you are having to go through all of this. I know it's hard to talk to an adult about what's going on, but you can do it. I have faith you. You already know you need and deserve help - that's a really good first step.

I think it could really help you to take advantage of some hotlines that can be found here. Sometimes it helps to talk to strangers about what's going on before we talk to people we know. They may also be able to put you in contact with people/therapists who can help you in your area. You could also write your mom or another adult you trust a letter. I know for me it was always easier to write instead of talk.

I hope you're doing okay and please PM me if you ever want someone to talk to.
