so wednesday night i was raped by someone i didnt know and i didnt tell anyone when it first happen. i went home and showered 8 times in burning hot water. i felt so dirty and violated and i didnt want anyone to know wat happened. i recently went to the hospital and i talked to a psychiatrist there and told her after crying and thinking suicide was my only option. she listened while i talked and made sure i was ok. she was very nice and convinced me to get examined. i didnt want to be touched at all but she held my hand and talked me through the exam. i dont know if telling her was the right thing to do but i had ran out of options so i think it was my last resort and im hoping i did wat was right..

Yes, telling her was definitely the right thing, and there is no reason to feel bad for telling her.

And you always have other options besides suicide. Never think it is your only option.

I'm really proud of what you have done. By talking to them, you are allowing the possibility of getting helped. It was the right thing to do because you deserve so much better than this.

You did the right thing hun. It takes strength to be able to talk about things you dont feel like talking about and I'm proud of you for asking for help and talking about it. Hang in there. Besides you've got a beautiful little girl who needs her mom around

I'm sorry that happened to you, I know how difficult it is. You did the right thing, holding it in only makes you hurt worse. Getting an exam after you have been raped is very important and I'm glad that she stayed with you during the exam. I'm also glad that you got to talk to a woman psychiatrist because I know how hard it is to talk to a male after that happens. Stay strong for you and for your baby girl.

But it just proves how strong you are for telling the psychiatrist what happened. It was definitely the right thing to do. Because in doing so, you've probably prevented much worse things happening to you.
