Is my mind 'normal'? - July 17th 2012, 11:06 AM

So many posts from me.

Okay, so...

My mind.. It's strange. Like..
I question EVERYTHING. Hell, I question life itself.
Like, heres some of the things I wonder:
"whats the point of eating good food? Why not eat food that tastes like shit?"
"why not sleep on uncomfortable things? why?"
"why feel good in my body?"
"why enjoy things like TV?"
"why have money to buy games and such?"

But yeah.

Is it normal? :/

I'll never be good enough, you make me wanna die.

you can give a damn, but you cannot give a fuck.

Hey there,

I'm not sure whether any persons mind is normal or not, for that I'd have to be a professional like a psychologist or doctor. What I do know though is nobody has the right to call you weird or your mind abnormal because obviously it's normal to you. The way you question things...I doubt many other people think in such depth about things, this just shows you as more curious, more intelligent. Do you think Isaac Newton just looked at that apple that fell and shrugged? No. He came up with the idea of gravity...because he thought more in depth about why the apple fell. So, in conclusion, I don't think there's anything wrong with you, you're just intelligent and curious. If you do think something's wrong though you can talk it out with your local/school counsellor

Take care,

Hi there.

I think its hard to define whats 'normaly' if infact we can define it at all. I do however, don't think there is anything wrong with your thoughts. I think its good to question things and I know I do this a lot too. So I wouldn't personally worry about it

Hey there,

Just like the others mentioned, we're not trained psychologists so we can't tell you for sure, but honestly, I don't think it's bad to question things. It shows that instead of just accepting things as they are, you want to look for deeper or hidden means that may or may not be inside things. I think that's actually a really good thing and shows a lot of intelligence. But I think that if you are questioning everything out of fear or worry about something, then maybe you need to go to a trained professional to see what they think. But that's just my opinion. Remember though that if you are really concerned about it, sometimes it may be best to go to a trained professional just to have your worries calmed. Good luck!

Well, it certainly seems there is no disorder in your brain. You aren't suffering from any major mental problem that you need medical help for.

Questioning all basic aspect of life on a regular basis is neurotic, however if these thoughts are only occur 'once in a while' it's likely that you are just philosophical. Again though, you cannot get treatment for being neurotic or philosophical, but rather the two are personality types.

It's not particularly "normal", as in most people do not regularly have such thoughts, however there is no disorder, and therefore nothing to be concerned about.
