Exclamation Think I'm bipolar - August 30th 2012, 04:09 AM

So In the past months I have just been going down hill emottionaly. I know I have dression I was diagnosed when I was ten. It's been more recent that I have noticed that I have more than just depression. I have severe mood swings. One minute I am happy go lucky then the next I want to tear my friend's head off. Just the slightest thing will set me off. I haven't been on any meds since I was ten and now i am twenty. I am at college so I don't know what to do. any advice?

The best advice I have would be to look into your college counseling center. Most if not all colleges offer free or reduced fee counseling services to their students.

Honestly, this doesn't sound like Bipolar Disorder to me. Depression can make someone "moody", because despite popular belief, Depression doesn't mean you're always depressed. It basically means that you're more vulnerable to being depressed, or even angry, compared to the general population. Perhaps you should look into counselling, and maybe even medication, for the Depression. If issues arise after that, then they may re-evaluate your diagnosis (assuming if they can't find an antidepressant that works).
