Hallucinating? - September 11th 2012, 03:17 AM

Right. I'm crazy.
Basically I wanted to know if I'm hallucinating and more importantly- why?
The things I've seen

-glowing worms all over the wall
-the words on my shirt were flashing and moving
- one time I spent all night picking bugs off my skin.

I'm crazy

Hi there

Firstly, you're not crazy. Clearly you're aware that is related to your mental health and I want to tell you that no one with a mental health illness is 'crazy'.

You may possibly be hallucinating. And there are different things that can cause hallucinations. A mental health illness such as psychosis, medications you may be on, lack of sleep and even health problems you may have. There are so many triggers that could be causing hallucinations for you if that is what you're struggling with. If you're worried I suggest you talk to your doctor about it. They might be able to check all the medication you're on if you're on any, talk about sleep patterns and so on, do medical examinations to determine whether you have and underlying problem or whether it could possibly be a mental health problem itself or triggered by another mental health problem such as depression or anxiety.

For not, try not to worry and if you have concerns, see your doctor

Lynds, Psychosis isn't uncommon in those with Bipolar Disorder, which, if I'm not mistaken, you've been diagnosed with.

Perhaps you should mention this to whoever prescribes you medication, and let them know it's not working because you're seeing weird things, then they would know a course of action from there (which, most likely, would just be a change in medication, or a different dose, depending on your current treatment).

I have hallucinations as well, but I'm being treated for it.
As far as you being "crazy", I don't believe you're crazy at all. Hallucinations are treatable as far as I know and have experienced. You should talk to a doctor or counselor about it. I did and I got help right away.
If you need to talk about it, I'm always here.
