Weird dream, result of coping from loneliness? - November 3rd 2012, 03:27 AM

Well the title basically says it all,
After being withheld from talking to a friend for a week, (had no school for a week), I felt extremely lonely, far more then how I normally feel. I believe it's because of the lack of school, atleast there I had one guy to talk to. (only for one period)

Now, I had a dream today. Like a fantasy, was not lucid, it felt real. The dream occured between 12:15 PM and 1:00 PM (I woke up and then went to sleep)

I only remembered the end, and that felt like the most "real" one.
I dreamed I had 4 female friends, 1 close friend, 3 acquaintances.

I remembered a conversation so fucking clearly, and I responded like how I would in real life. IT WAS REALISTIC, VERY REALISTIC.

Now.. after I woke up, my mood was far better then what it was yesterday.

Is this some sort of coping device in the brain? Or was it just some random stuff?

What lies ahead is unknown. However, in some times, I've sighted several smooth pavements. I myself am the mender of roads, and it is with these we work on.

Re: Weird dream, result of coping from loneliness? - November 6th 2012, 02:40 AM

We tend to dream about things we think about, either right before we fall asleep, or on a regular basis. I'm not sure your dream was a "coping device," so much as it was a blissful escape from reality - a fantasy. That's what many good dreams essentially are. =) So if you're asking whether or not it was random, I would say, "no," for the reasons above. What you choose to do with this dream is up to you. Maybe you'll decide to create more friendships as a result of this dream, because why settle for just dreaming about good things when you can actually make them happen? =D
