Any advice? - November 8th 2012, 01:27 AM

I know that nobody here can diagnose me but some advice would be helpful. I feel/see/hear things that most people don't. I feel like there is always someone or something watching me. I hear people talking to me or calling my name a lot. I sometimes see shadows or people or animals that no one else can see. I feel like animals are always trying to send me messages and talk to me. I get really anxious at night sometimes to the point of panic attacks because I think that one of the things I see feel or hear will come in the middle of the night and hurt or kill me and my family. I truly believe that these things are real because I've woken up with scratches and cuts and bruises all unexplained before and I'm really scared of whats going to happen if they hurt me or my family. If anybody has any advice of what I can do or if I should pursue a diagnoses of some kind (please tell a starting point so I can say what I think it is to my doctor) then please let me know!

Everyone has their beliefs, and different people are going to lean toward different explanations~ your doctor may consider it to be purely a brain thing, someone else might consider it to be more of a spiritual thing. There's no wrong or right, and I've grown up around varying opinions when it comes to things like this, so I don't even know where I stand. But I do believe that whichever way you lean, or however you choose to integrate the different possibilities, you should do it on your own terms and with your personal well-being in mind. Talk to your doctor, talk to others you trust, and find out what makes sense for you and what kind of treatments, if any, you'd like to try. And in all cases, pay attention to your own thoughts- as always, let someone know if ever you feel that you pose a threat to yourself or another, and let someone know if you're having increasingly paranoid or suspicious feelings <--- your doctor will likely tell you that, it's a very good general rule for dealing with anything that concerns you like this.
