Too Many Symptoms (BPD) - June 7th 2014, 12:44 PM

So, I am subscribed to MrRepzion on YouTube, and I found guest video, specifically about Borderline Personality Disorder. While watching, it occurred to me,p that most of these symptoms afflict me heavily, and with this realization an inexplicable episode of grief. All of my negative emotions are really intense, I basically can't deal with being alone (I don't have many friends, due to intense emotions, my girlfriend lives thousands of miles away from me), and I do have a lot of anxiety attacks due to just paranoia and extreme guilt, not to mention my "self-harm" (picking open scabs and disinfecting them so it stings intensely). I don't know, maybe I'm just paranoid, but I'm scared that maybe I'll never figure out what's wrong with me, or I'll be stuck with this awful disorder (and there's no way in Hell my mum can afford treatment, she barely pays for my regular therapy).

Hello there and welcome to TH. I know that it's really easy to watch, read, or search for something and think that you have it because a lot of the symptoms fit, but this can be dangerous because you can scare yourself or convince yourself that you have something that you don't have. If you're already in some kind of therapy, you should continue to bring up these symptoms with them, but BPD can't be diagnosed until someone is 18.
