Unhappy Another Mental Breakdown - October 23rd 2017, 11:39 AM

I had a another horrible mental breakdown. Was at Chick-fil-a and I had to turn in a coupon for a free chciken sandwich ( yummy! ), anyways, I kept stuttering It felt horrible. Dad told me I have to say Hi and Thank you when I meet anyone! Maybe I was just nervous that a parental figure was next to me and I messed up so much on talking. I felt like the workers were talking about me and judging me It felt horrible I hated it. I wanted to cry but I didnt want anyone to see me cry. I suffered in silence Crieing inside my head. It was horrible. I been feeling really down lately, because of Social Anxiety. Im going to a psychiatrist but I need to wait 2 months to go I think. I want to go now, I dont want to wait for the pschyciatrist. anyways thanks for any imput, thanks for reading this.

It can definitely be anxiety producing when ordering, especially when there are adults around!

Sorry to hear that the anxiety was bad and you found yourself stuttering. But it's good to remember that you felt like the workers were talking about you- they might not have been. To them, you were just another out of hundreds of customers served that day. Many people hesitate and stutter when they can't think straight and are nervous so I'm sure you aren't the only one to have gone through this and feel this way. As long as the workers didn't treat you any differently, then you can be assured that they didn't notice or didn't judge you.

It's good that you are seeing a psychiatrist soon, and understandably, 2 months may seem like a long time. Perhaps before ordering things you can take a few minutes to think or rehearse about what you are going to say. And if things don't go quite as planned, just tell yourself that it's just the anxiety and the workers are unlikely to be judging you when they are busy taking your order. It's also totally okay to cry afterwards as well, if you feel like that's what you want to do. Crying is a healthy way of expressing emotion, and nothing to be ashamed of!
