hallucinations? - December 7th 2017, 08:14 PM

No I haven't/wasn't sleep deprived, but yesterday I found myself imagining something that wasn't happening at all
like, i was walking up to the college and then my mum got in a car and drove away. I texted her to ask what I was meant to do and about 20 minutes later I was back to normal and realized she was never out with me - she had been at home all that time
so did i suddenly go into a state where id imagine things that weren't there? it can't be a dream because i didnt have anywhere to fall asleep with where i was. That does worry me, because if i thought someone was my mum (from seeing things that aren't there) then i could go with them and that could be very dangerous in itself

That must've been scary for you!

What you experienced could've been an hallucination, but we can't say for sure since we aren't professionals. If you got lost in a daydream or worry about hallucinating again, then maybe you can try to pay more attention to what's going on around you instead. Otherwise, keep track of when these hallucination type things occur and see a doctor if it happens frequently.

I think what the doctors saying (from when i called about it) was that anyone could have it happen, but it's not an actual health problem unless it does reoccur in the future like something on a regular basis
