Floating out of my body - March 10th 2020, 09:38 AM

Hi there.

I've begin to feel like I'm floating out of my body. I've experienced it before, but it's been years since that.
It's really scaring. The doctos says it's my schizoprenia that makes me feel it.

Other than that, the voices in my head are really mean, and I see things there are not there.

It's nothing new, I'm just scared.

Even though you've experienced it before it sounds really frightening, which is completely understandable.

Is there anything in the past that has helped with this feeling? Maybe something to help you feel more grounded? You could try doing things to stimulate your five senses, like:
  • Eat a piece of chocolate, chew gum, or have a hard candy.
  • Smell a body spray, some flowers, or a favorite food.
  • Listen to music or a TV show.
  • Look at a pretty pattern, or something sparkly, like foil.
  • Feel a soft blanket or a stuffed animal.

Sometimes doing different things (especially smell) can help make things feel a little less floaty. As for the voices, does it help if you ever talk back to them and tell them they're wrong? You could also get a piece of paper and write their side and then write your healthy responses to them.

Is there anyone around who can support you? When things are really scary it can be nice to have someone around if they're aware of what you're experiencing.

Keep going, and keep sharing here. I will be thinking of you.
