post traumatic stress disorder - October 15th 2009, 01:44 PM

I have PTSD, and I feel like I'm just getting worse and worse. Its not jsut the frequency of the flashbacks and panic attacks, its the severity of them to. I have ones in public... where I am utterly out of it, like shouting and screaming and hitting out... sometimes Ill have whole periods where I can't remember what I did... I feel like I am losing control of my life. I can barely get into a car anymore, or set foot outside the house after dark. I just don't know how much longer I will be able to carry on like this... I see my therapist every week, and I have done for the last year, but it doesn't help at all... please help me

h is a bluebird that you see from afar
it is real and as sure as the first evening star
can't touch it, or buy it, or lock it up tight
but its there just the same
making things turn out right

Hi there! I am really sorry that you have to suffer from PTSD but from what I hear, it goes away if you give it some time.

What you could do is, if you haven't done it already, is try to get to the root of it and over come that fear. It's like how in yoga, we try to get the health problem out from the root. So you could try that?

Talking about it is also another way to let your fears out. It gives you courage and makes you stronger. Or so I've experienced.

Basically, what I am trying to say is that you should try to over come that fear. I know it only sounds easy and it isn't so. But if you give it some time and really concentrate on it, you should be able to achieve it.

Anyways, if you ever need to talk about this feel free to PM me, I'd be glad to help you. Take care! I hope you feel good.
