Risperidone. - January 19th 2010, 03:22 PM

Today I was prescribed Risperidone and I was wondering if any of you have had any experiences with it and if it helped you in anyway.
Also, what side effects did you experience? Were they easy to deal with or were they quite serious?

Thanksyou

Risperidone gave me terrible side effects (I'm sure that's not what you want to hear) so I didn't stay on it long enough to know if it had positive effects, also. You should notice quickly if you have any of the worse side effects (lactation is not pleasant when it's unnecessary ). I hope you have a better experience with it, though. (:

I have never taken that medicine but my cousin did. I know that he took it for a bit but did not like the side effects and quit taking it. I know that is probably not what you want to hear.

The best advice I can give is to really listen to your body and see what it has to say about the medicine. Usually a person notices side effects soon enough so they can go back to their doctor and get a medicine that will work for them.

But, I am sure not everyone exhibits the same side effects. So, hopefully it will work well for you.

Best of luck,

Jenna
