Exclamation I do believe I've gone mad. - June 16th 2010, 03:19 AM

I keep having these fantastic, horribly realistic illusions about me either falling off a building, or other ways of killing myself, or me putting my mother into an insane asylum. I'm beginning to think that i'm the one who needs the insane asylum instead.

And here i though my illusions weren't very realistic.
They get even more so with time.

Hey,

You're not mad, you're not insane, you're not crazy. What you are experiencing are called "intrusive thoughts"--which are, basically, thoughts that enter your mind and instead of just leaving, they latch on. Everyone has thoughts like that--weird things that make them say, "huh, why the heck did I just think that?" but they become intrusive thoughts when the person isn't able to move on, because the thoughts keep coming, keep getting more vivid, keep bothering them, etc.

Intrusive thoughts are often part of OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder). I can definitely tell you more about that if you're interested. I know a lot of people who used to think they were crazy until they were diagnosed with OCD, or another cause of their intrusive thoughts.

If you can, reach out to someone--a parent, teacher, etc. and let them know what's going on. It would be great if you could see a therapist or counselor, who can help you work through what's going on--and they can help figure out what is causing these thoughts and how to manage them.

Hang in there and take good care of yourself.

I'm homeschooled, so there's no one really to talk to, i had ended my therapy because i was over my suicide problems, but now it's gone mental, and i'm suicidal again.
I would never talk to my parents about it. Ever.

Maybe you should try going back to counseling? That might help

I'm not real good with opening up to people, i'm always paranoid about everything.
Especially if someone knows something about me, then i'm always afraid they'll tell someone.

Yeah, I can understand that. But I think it may be something that you're going to have to work past, because I think counseling can help you with that, too. Best of luck

It's hard, because i live in fear everyday that someone's going to come to the door and break in and kill me.
I mean, the killing part isn't so bad, but i mean i'm always afraid of everyone who knocks, or even shuts a door outside.
