Could there be something wrong with me? - June 29th 2010, 01:40 AM

Basically, my concern is that I get upset over absolutely everything. Ever little thing.

This started a little over a year ago but seems like it has gotten progressively worse, especially in the past few months. I hate to say it, but I attribute it to a guy who I was involved with in early 2008. You could probably call it an emotionally abusive relationship but it didn't stop after we broke up. To this day he bothers me even though I ignore him.. I could go on forever about that story..

Ever since, I haven't been able to hold another relationship longer then a month or so, usually when it starts to get serious I run away from it.

I also get upset over everything, as I mentioned. I isolate myself and ball my eyes out for extended periods of time. Most recently, Today I poured a glass of milk only to realize my dad finished the rest of the Oreos, and I freaked out. I shut myself in my room and cried for nearly 30 minutes. All I wanted was the Oreos and milk.

I'm also mean and bitter. I can't help it, and if I could I honestly don't think I would. I snap at everybody and I raise my voice over the silliest things.

I don't know. It doesn't sound as severe typing it. Maybe this is just how I am? I'm worried I could become mentally ill or something and wind up in some kind of hospital (over a long period of time), as far-fetched as that sounds.

Depression seems a possibility, Bipolar very highly unlikely.

Anyways, you should consult a professional about this. Since you're not that young, I don't see it likely to be a hormonal thing, though it still could be, since you are a teenager. It could be something simple, or something that needs extensive treatment.

Thanks you guys.

Does anxiety seem like a possibility? I was reading symptoms, but there are over 100 so it's hard to determine.

Honestly, nothing you've said sounds consistent with Anxiety, or at least what I've known about it.

Hey Kaitlyn,

I think there are a number of mental health problems that have severe anger as their symptoms, so it's going to be pretty hard to find just the one you are suffering from by researching on the internet. We all have anger from time to time, but it seems like this has gone way beyond the occasional outburst of anger, so I think the best thing for you to do is visit a doctor, and see what they have to say. They may diagnose you with a mental health disorder, or they might simply recommend therapy so that you can work through the issues you are having that cause your anger.

Either way, I hope that things work out for you and that you are able to work through this soon. Good luck. x
