I've been to one for 2-3 weeks, don't worry everything will be fine.

My best friend went to 2 residential facilities. One of them was an outdoor one where you live in the wilderness and stuff. When he came back from the outdoor one he was literally a changed person. He loved being there.

Another one of my friends was in a residential for an eating disorder and she had a wonderful time there. She said the counselors were amazing and she met so many friends who have helped her stay free from her eating disorder after 2 years!Q

I personally think residentials can be great as long as you want the help for yourself. Just stay strong and true to yourself and you will do great! I wish you all the luck in the world and hope that you have a good experience (which I am sure you will).

well it depends on what you are going for and the places can be very different... just take everything in stride and try not to get angry at the people running everything because they will make you stsy longer. Think of it somewhat as a vacation though, and focus on relaxing and feeling better... and listen to the people there, they're there to help. You get more out of it if you cooperate although, sometimes the rules can really get under your skin... and how everything is schedualed is really annoying too. HA! But really, I would do it again... it helped me, and I got to forget about all the stuff outside in the real world for a while, which is really nice. You can even make new friends and learn a lot about yourself.

I met Steven October 3rd, 2008. We've been practically inseperable ever since. ♥
