Question What Is Wrong With Me? - July 17th 2010, 09:32 AM

Help?
I feel stupid but my mind has gone completely mad. It has slowly been getting worse for about 6 months..
I self harm. Sometimes for specific, physical reasons. I.e problems at school, relationships etc. But other times I feel like if I don't do it, someone will hurt my friends or my family. So then I feel like I have to, even if it's just to protect them? What the hell is up with that. It's stupid but I can't get it out of my head. Its like there are voices up there..
Also, im 15 and living in the UK. Can I see a doctor without my parents being there/knowing?

I am what I am.

yes you can see a doctor without your parents knowing, it would breech their proffessionalism and they have to keep your information confidential

my advice would be to go and see a doctor, its good that you ave accepted somethings wrong and are keen to seek help. whereas me i want proper help im just too scared to go and get it, silly i no !

Go see a doctor. Self harm and voices in your head are problematic. Are the voices your thoughts or real voices you "hear"? If you go to a free clinic, your parrents cdon' have to be told. but maybe you should. Is there a specific reson why you don't want them to know?

I don't want to worry them thats all. Besides, they would freak out and fuss over me. I know what they're like. I feel it is best to keep it quiet for now. Also, my auntie has just died and I wouldn't want to heap more trouble onto my parents.
