Frequent bad dreams and nightmares - September 24th 2010, 02:39 AM

All through my life I have had severe bouts of depression. I feel better now but I also feel it's only a matter of time before it comes back, I sometimes think (even though I am generally happy these days) of killing myself. I just feel very hopeless at times and stress really gets to me. I can't think about my family life because it gets me too down, so I push it down and refuse to talk to anyone.

Anyway my question is really about my dreams, all through my life I have always had bad dreams and frequent nightmares. Is this just the product of me not talking about my issues and pushing and denying my problems?

I had a dream last night that my Nana (who died 8 years ago) was really alive and was a psychic living under a false name. My mother took me to visit her in an old folks home, as soon as I saw her I started crying and crying but she wouldn't let me hug her for some reason. Then she said to me 'see? I am alive, I have medicine in my pocket'. I think maybe this means my idealistic view of death is something I consider 'medicine' to my current life difficulties.

But anyway, I really just wanted to know about why I always have bad dreams.
