Breakdown - October 11th 2010, 04:47 AM

Once there was a test that I didn't know about and I had a MAJOR breakdown, I don't remember how it started, I only remember when it ended. I don't even remember what I was freaking out about, my friend, who had witnessed the entire thing slapped me across the face. Which hurt really badly because I had braces. Either way, I don't know why I've had these breakdowns, I had one a week or so ago in class, though it wasn't as bad as that one. Me and one of my friend's got into a fight over movies. Yeah, stupid thing to fight about, I know. But either way, I had one, I don't know why, I just started screaming at her and sobbing at the same time. The teacher wasn't in the room (thankfully) because she went to the bathroom so after I finally snapped out of it I wasn't sent to the office to get a phone call home. The only problem is that my parents don't know about any of the times I've broken down. I should tell them, but the probably won't believe me. What do I do?

Well, maybe your hormones are acting up, or maybe you've got panic issues. Either way, you should probably talk to your parents, and go to the doctor. If it's a hormone issue, they could probably help you find something to cope. If its the signs of a possible panic disorder, they'd be able to find a professional in that field.

It seems like this is interfering with your life either way, so talking about it may be the first step you need to get help.

I don't know about a docter... Last time I went to one I started to cry and beg my mom to take me home.

Seeing a doctor can be scary, but just picture yourself without all these mood swings. Look for patters occuring when you have a breakdown. Maybe your really stressed? Sometimes just crying in private or writing your feelings down can really help. If you ever feel one coming on, close your eyes, count down from 10 (it really works) and take some deep breaths and try and calm yourself down. You can get through this
