Hypochondria - November 25th 2010, 07:03 AM

Hey there. I think I've got this in the right forum, if I don't I apologize.

Anyways, I have this really amazing friend who is a hypochondriac. They spend a lot of time on the internet searching for things that can go wrong with different medical situations...surgeries, medicines, symptoms of illnesses, etc etc. It ends up demanding a lot of their time and keeps them in a constant state of worry.
Can any of you hook me up with some ways that I can pass along to them for them to help themselves? Ways that I can support them? Is anyone here a hypochondriac? If you are, how do you fight it?

Thanks so much guys! I appreciate it bunches and I know that they will too!

Great works are performed not by strength, but by perseverance.
PM me anytime <3

Well, Hypochondriacs usually have some Anxiety, so maybe coping mechanisms for Anxiety might help? Sorry I don't know any off-hand, but that may be a place to start at least.

Look up thought-stopping techniques.

The walls are high, the walls are strong
I've been trapped in this castle that I built for far too long
You have surrounded me, a sea on every side
The cracks are forming and I've got no where to hide
