Hey Tab, I think I understand at least partially what you're saying.

But at the same time, I don't know enough about you or your situation to start giving you an answer to "Why is this?". Can you elaborate a little more?

"Want to know a secret?

You are beautiful.

Black, white, gay, straight, bisexual. Whether you are smart or quiet or impossibly in love with your best friend, someone out there cherishes your smile and gets butterflies when you walk into a room.

Someone out there can't stop thinking about you. You Are Beautiful. Don't ever believe differently."

This experience in itself is quite interesting, and absurd. I've 'had it' for about two years now, though its triggers are quite different from yours. I was never able to understand its workings or anything like that, and I suppose it was ultimately not necessary, since I learned to live with it (and keep it dormant!) as best as I could.

If it is interfering too much with your daily life, you could always get in touch with a professional - they can help you with exploring your thoughts and feelings. Though, I never did, even when it was almost debilitating - I refused to allow it to prevent me from living my life normally - and gradually, it became easier to deal with. The mind, and consciousness, is adaptable. It's difficult, and frightening, and frustrating as hell - but it really does get better.

All of that taught me, more than anything else, that not everything has an apparent cause. Or perhaps it does - it's just that, the limitations of our human language and conceptual framework holds us back from seeing its true nature.

Perhaps you will arrive at a satisfactory understanding over time. But even if you never do, that too is okay. Your experience may be unusual, and 'creepy', but it doesn't make you 'crazy'. It, like everything else, just is.

"If limitations exist, it is because we have erased the possibility of potential."

Feel free to PM me if you ever need anything.
