If you weren't ready to leave, maybe you should go back to the hospital, honestly. I've heard stories from people, but the point is that in the end, they get better.

I agree with Julz. Overall it'll be a net-positive for you and your family because it's in your best interest to get better. They are equipped to help you with these kinds of problems. In addition you can seek methods and support that will help you manage it when you leave next time.

If you don't think you were ready to leave and you still feel the need to cut, you probably weren't ready to leave. Your family wants you to stop hurting. If that means you want to return to the hospital, I'm sure they will support you 100%. Be strong! and talk it out with your family. All in all, it will be for the best for both you and your family. Best wishes.

If you're still cutting, then you're considered a danger to yourself and with the desire to overdose, there's a high possibility of damage or even death. In such a case, you should return to the hospital, tell the nurses and doctors what you're doing and your plans so they can monitor you. Outside the hospital, people can monitor you but people also have to be at other places so they may not be able to monitor you unless you come with them, although may not be a great idea depending where they're going. At a mental hospital, it's part of their job to watch you so they will.

If you overdose, people at home cannot help you because they're likely untrained and do not have the proper equipment. At the mental hospital, if you overdose, you can receive treatment much faster because depending what you overdose on and how much, there often is a high possibility of death or neurological/neuropsychological impairment.

I can rip you off, and steal all your cash, suckerpunch you in the face, stand back and laugh. Leave you stranded as fast as a heart-attack.
