The noise inside my head is too much sometimes - September 30th 2011, 10:37 PM

I try not to think about it, but there's this constant noise in my head. It's like there's another side of me that I push back into my mind, and it's fighting to get out. I try to ignore it but sometimes it comes out and I can't take it. It's too loud for me to think sometimes- it's like someone is screaming inside of my head and I don't know what to do about it. No one else knows about this but me. It scares me half to death when I think about it too hard. I don't know what it is, or what I should do. I just can't take it anymore. I've managed to try to ignore it for this long, but it's becoming too hard. Sometimes I just feel like screaming to let it out, but if I do then I don't know what will happen after that. Maybe if I do that, I won't be able to control it, and it'll take over me.

Please, if this makes sense to anyone, I need some help. I've been managing on my own for this long, but I need someone else to help me now. Thank you.

Hi there.

It could be an auditory hallucination, intrusive thoughts that are manifesting as a loud noise, or it could be something to do with your ears.

Either way there's only so much medical/psychological advice we can give you here, so I think you should go and speak to your doctor who can look into the matter for you and refer you to a specialist if necessary.

Hmm, I don't know. I did a little research on auditory hallucinations, and I don't think it's like that. I know that the noise is only inside my head; I know it's just in my mind. Auditory hallucinations are more when you think that someone is physically talking to you, which isn't the case for me. I am fully aware that it's only me. But thanks for the suggestions. Maybe I should talk to a professional about it.
