Dreams (Sorry not sure where else to put this) - October 6th 2011, 05:45 AM

This thread has been labeled as triggering by the original poster or by a Moderator. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

I wasn't sure where to put this- because its sort of health-related and a bunch of other stuff too... and I'm just confused and nervous over this!

I completely forgot about this until I was looking through the forums, but I've been having some dreams lately where I'm in them, but forcing myself to be ill in them.

I thought, at first, when I woke up today after one of these dreams- it must just be because of something I read. I have this series I adore to read where a character I admire and adore has some troubles and goes through a small stint of trying to... end his life through not eating and purging when he does. I've never done that, though.

Anyway, I thought that might have been why, but I've had dreams like this before. Where I am having a normal sort of day- a very realistic dream, and then I go off and hide and then just am sick as hell. I've never had an ED myself, and I hate throwing up. I don't feel sick when I wake up and the only thing I can really think about illness in real life is that I've had a cold on and off for a few weeks. It bothers me a lot though, because I can definitely feel the entire process in my dream and I despise it there as much as in real life, and I want to make sure its not causing me any harm.

HEY

Well I don't think dreams can cause you harm. Have you tried googling this?
Here is a link

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...2122303AAWStbH

But i'm baffled, this is an odd situation.

HOWEVER

Maybe you are dreaming due to the books you are reading? I find if I have watched a film that day, my dream is somewhat about it. If I have spoken to someone for AGEs, my dream involves them

Do a Google on this.

I skimmed through that, reading the comments strictly about normal dreaming. Sorry, I did find it a little helpful, but it just seemed like more of what I was starting to think for the most part. Unfortunately the nature of that thread is a big 'NO' for me because I tend to get petrified of a lot of things- and that is one of them. Thank you for the link c:

I think this is more for Mental Health. I do not believe this is causing you bodily harm but merely you having vivid dreams. This is more about psychologist events and would be your mind causing harm, not a physical ailment. So I'll move this there after I answer.

I don't think this is anything to worry about. Better question is WHY are you worried? It's a dream. I have strange dreams all the time. I dreamed about a green blob eating me and my friends

But...I don't think it's anything to worry about. I understand wanting to know why you are dreaming about it. But the answer seems to have been answered by yourself - reading a book about a boy who is purging.

Same as, I played a zombie game recently and so last night I had a dream about zombies despite never seeing a zombie in my own life. That's just how dreams work sometimes. Nobody knows the real reason of dreams, or what they really are. But I think it's safe to say it was likely the book you read.

Since you've had the dream, or one similar, before though - it's likely just because maybe you were sick or someone you knew was sick. Then you dreamt of being sick.

In this case, I do not think your mind could really hurt you. If you notice you have a very nasty taste in your mouth and a sore throat or something along those lines when you wake up, then you might see a doctor about throwing up due to a dream.

Otherwise, it sounds like you are just dreaming and it shouldn't be causing any harm. I hope this helps.

So you have gray hair and you're only 26

that's just another reason I love you...

Thanks for the answers and I guess this is now solved. c:

WHetever we go through in our lives , see or experience, It is all stored in our brained. From the moment we are born till the present. Dreams can come randomly from any of these stored things.

Its easier said that done BUT most of the great things wouldn't have ever been done if they hadn't been said first.
