Problems with sadness - December 3rd 2011, 04:14 AM

(Couldn't find a place to put this so I thought this would be best)

So my mom sad some hurtful things to me before I went to class today and when I was driving back home, I started crying but the strangest thing happened. I really couldn't cry.

I just subconsciously stopped myself, I wanted to cry and just let it out but I couldn't. And I couldn't help myself by thinking "This is stupid, don't cry over stupid things like what your mom said. Don't let her get to you. Your stronger than that. Toughen up, people need you to be their rock, you can't go crying over simple things," even though I really want to let it all out and cry.

So what I'm asking is, is it bad that I physically can't cry? Is it bad that mentally yelling at myself when I try?

I think I need help.....

I think that you shouldnt hold it in. Crying is natural, some do more crying than others - but everyone does it. I dont think you should hold back your tears; I think its way more healthier to let them out. Crying is just a way to let out your frustrations and sadness for the moment and when you hold them back it teens to be a heavier weight on you. I dont cry to often, but when I do, I feel alot better afterwards! So dont hold it back, hun! Let it out!

Best wishes,
Chris

I want to let it out, but I can't, I think I've toughened myself up so much that I can't. I've always felt that when I cry I'm weak and pathetic, and I didn't like that feeling, so I don't. That sounds weird but it true.

Yeah sometimes thats what happens, but you will cry eventually, and when you do dont try to hold it back, just let it out. We ALL cry, we in most cases come into the world crying! Its natural, and does not make us weak.

Best wishes,
Chris
