A problem with eating. - March 17th 2013, 01:05 PM

I don't know if this is in the right forum or not! But anyway...

I seem to have a problem with eating food at the moment. When I get up, I can have cereal, toast, waffles, muffins (the bread kind) or crumpets for breakfast, but I look at all of them and think 'urgh, it's all disgusting!'. So I normally end up skipping breakfast or just having a smoothie, which I know isn't good, but I don't know what else to do!

At the weekends, I tend to skip lunch too. I only eat lunch if I have been at sixth form or work that day, and even then it's hard for me to find something to eat. I don't want a roll or a sandwich.

When I eat dinner, I'm fine. I always eat dinner, I love eating dinner. It's always really nice. But you can't really eat sausages for breakfast or anything like that! Well, you could, but I don't have the time to make myself anything hot in the morning, nor do I have the money to buy anything on the way to work.

I don't know what to do, it's beginning to annoy me.

22/12/2014 was the last date I self-harmed. The longest I have gone so far is 1 year, 2 months and 5 days. This time, I hope I can give up! New record: 1 year 6 months! Yay!!

My question to you is- Do you purposely try to eat less, or are you just not hungry?

Make eating more of a priority. It's very important, and if you don't eat regularly enough, your body will suffer despite you not doing this intentionally.

Set reminders for mealtimes if you have to. Try new foods to widen your horizons. Wake up earlier so you have longer to wake up before eating, as I know I for once can't eat when I JUST wake up.

I'm hungry and I'm not trying to eat any less. It's just that some food looks and smells horrible.

I'm willing to try new foods, but I don't have any money to buy them and money is quite tight at my houses at the moment, so my family won't buy anything that one of us may or may not eat.

I've tried waking up earlier. I usually wake up at 6:30am and if I'm not hungry, I get dressed and do everything else first, but even by 7:15am I'm not hungry. And I can't seem to find much for me to eat on the way to work or sixth form either.

I know it's important and it's stressing me out because I'm not eating properly, but I can't even seem to see what the problem is. :/
