Unhappy Stuffed and desperate :( - May 19th 2013, 03:18 PM

i struggle a lot with my weight i want to lose another [EDITED] but it gets harder . since last year i've lost [EDITED] but this year it's like nothings happening .

i've literally excersized my but off last year and even now when doing those ... i get no where!!! i am so frustrated!

i dont overeat but lately i get so unmotivated i cnt help snacking .
i tried eating a lot less earlier this year but it didn't work even a bit , calorie counting and excersising ...

i need to lose those [EDITED] , not for others . for myself . but i want to do it right and keep it off... i usually do tae bo advance 3 times a week, skip rope and run up and down stairs for half an hour ...

please help . trying not to get an ED but...
what am i doing wrong?

Hey there! Difficulty reaching your weight loss goal can definitely be frustrating. I know from personal experience that looking at the scale and seeing undesired results can be devastating. There's one huge thing that you have to keep in mind here, though! Muscle weighs more than fat. Think about the kinds of exercises you've been doing. Are they more cardio based or more strength based? If they're more strength based lately, your body has probably been building up a lot of muscle. If that's the case, that's probably the biggest reason your scale isn't reading as you want it to. You're not gaining weight; you're gaining muscle.

If you're having problems regulating your snacking, try to focus on what you snack on. There's nothing wrong with something light in between meals. But, if you're always reaching for potato chips, cookies, and other junk food, it will slow your progress down. Rather than trying to limit how much you snack, limit the types of foods you eat. Replacement is key. For example, substitute an apple for a bag of Lay's or trail mix instead of candy. You'll still get the fill that you need before your next meal, but you'll be doing it in a much healthier way.

The biggest thing I can stress here is to make sure your weight loss is healthy! There's nothing wrong with wanting to shed a few pounds. But, make sure you stay focused on how you're going about it. From the sound of it, you're already on a pretty solid path with diet and exercise. Keep up that path and consider switching your exercise to cardio for a bit! You'll be on the way to your goal in no time.
