Quick question about hunger please read! - October 22nd 2013, 04:10 PM

Well if you have seen any of my older posts you would know about my eating disorder.
I went down hill for a few weeks up to 1 hour ago. I stopped eating for three days and today I decided I should be healthy! And so I ate my dinner (Pasta with tomato sauce). But I am already hungry after 1 hour? Does this mean my body has used the energy and needs more because I don't want to eat anything else unless it is necessary. So yeah, Do I need to eat now that I am hungry even though it's been an hour? Or should I wait and please don't lie and make me get fat.

Hi

Speaking from experience, the best thing you can do is listen to your body. Your body is saying that it is hungry so I suggest feeding it. It can be very hard to do sometimes but you need to trust your body. It's telling you that it's hungry - so eat something.

I've also heard that sometimes hunger can be mistaken for thirst. Because you just ate not long ago, maybe try drinking a glass of water. If the hunger persists, then eat something.

Listen to your body, love! Best of luck on your healthy eating! It takes real courage to make that decision.

I agree, you should listen to your body.

You probably need protein and fatty acids (i.e. meats, avocado, nuts, cheese, etc.). Pasta is carbohydrate, so it wont give you what your body needs. Carbs will give your body energy, but it needs proteins to build and maintain cells and tissues, and fatty acids will give you a steady stream of energy whereas carbs like pasta only give you short-term energy. The good news is you can get these without gaining unhealthy weight from unprocessed meats or other proteins and good fats (which basically just means to aviod trans fats).
