I don't even know.... - November 26th 2013, 01:49 AM

This is weird.... anyways i've been eating almost nothing for the past week or so and it's really scaring my boyfriend and a couple of my friends who know. But it's not like a "oh i shouldn't eat i'm too fat" type of thing. i mean, yeah, i'd rather loose a few pounds, but its not a big obsession of mine per se. i just end up getting sick when i eat, and throwing up. not intentionally, but i just physically can't keep food down to the point where now i'm scared to eat because it's really painful and honestly not worth the effort. and so i've gotten to the point where i don't like to eat, but idk if i'd call it an ED. it's something though. i don't get hungry any more. i thought it may have something to do with exhaustion (i only sleep an hour or two a couple of days a week. maybe 4 hours a week) but it's not making sense. anybody have any ideas? i feel like it's physically the same as an ED but pyschologically it seems different. ugh. this is so confusing.

You're right about it not sounding like an eating disorder (they're normally mentally fueled), but it is disordered eating, intentional or not. To me it really does sound like a physical problem, and I think you need to talk to your doctor about it. Regardless of whether you're doing it intentionally or not, not eating enough has the same effect on your body, and it's pretty dangerous.

My advice: go see your doctor, and try eating little and often. The aim should be to not overload your stomach, but to still eat enough to sustain your body. It shouldn't hurt when you eat, if it does there's a physical problem behind that and it really needs sorted.

Best of luck, let me know how you get on

Take as long as you need.

Maybe take some appetite openers and stop trying to alter your body. Who is it for? Do you want to die as a toothpick or live happily, enjoying food which is apart of life and being young
