Starvation + purging - March 12th 2014, 11:27 PM

I'm stuck. I eat under [EDITED] calories a day (3 bowls of oatmeal and 2 apples) I have eaten the exact same nearly everyday for 3 months , exercise 10 hours a week. However some days I will binge. But not a typical binge. Most of the time I will binge on branflakes:/. I have never understood this but I constantly crave them. I could eat a whole box when I binge on them. And then I feel so guilty I force myself to throw up. Also, I haven't eaten dinner in 4 months as it scares me. I cannot bring myself to do it. My mum tried to make me eat it tonight but I just had a panic attack and cried. I feel constantly tired and have dark circles under my eyes. My hands are always freezing cold and blue. I don't know what to do. I can't seem to get myself out of this. I seem to have developed a fear of eating any other food. Does anyone have any advice?

Hey Katie,

Do you know what started this fear of food in the first place? I think you should work on trying to figure out what started your fear; the emotions behind that fear so that you can work on resolving the problem. I also think it would be a good idea for you to consider talking to your mom about how extreme this is so that you two could work on getting into counseling or something like that. I know the thought of counseling seems scary but you deserve to get help for this and the fact that your hands are turning blue is kind of concerning.

Something else you might want to consider doing is looking into getting a dietitian. A dietitian will help you get on a healthy meal plan and help you work on getting back on track with your eating.
