For many years I've struggled with my weight but since the end of April I've been excessively dieting and exercising. Within the last few months i have started with first fastings and then binges and after i binged i had the urge to purge to then i stared binge-purge on a normal basis and when i have the ability to i use laxitives. But I've realized what this can lead to...does anyone have advice on how to quit this? If it helps to know, I've been doing this so im good enough and someday someone will love me and not leave me for better..also ive had issues with self harm in the past

Hey there,

I struggle with purging and have been trying to recover as well. Some things that I have found helpful is trying to eat regular scheduled meals such as breakfast, lunch and dinner. I started out just eating fruits and vegetables and then worked up to bigger meals. It can be really hard to do and I would constantly get the urge to purge but instead of purging I would distract myself with Alternatives to Self Harm . I know it is the alternatives to self harm but the things listed there can be helpful in combating the urges to purge.

Something else that can be helpful is finding someone to talk to about your binging and purging such as a counselor. I know this can be really hard to do but in the end finding someone to open up to about this can be really beneficial.

I hope that this helped in some way. I know I didn't give you a lot of great advice but I am still trying to work my way through my own urges so I don't have it all figured out. I am wishing you the best of luck and if you need anything please feel free to message me.
