Pizza - November 12th 2014, 12:19 AM

I know I've posted about this before but it's worse now. I am going to have a trigger food tonight Pizza and I just know I'm going to purge after I eat it. All the grease that drips off of it is disgusting. And my ED voice has been telling me to purge for days now and I have been resisting but I honestly don't know if I can resist with having to eat Pizza. We eat pizza so much it pisses me off because people know it's a trigger food for me. It's like they just don't give a flying fuck.
I'm almost in tears.

Is there a different food you could find to eat tonight in place of the pizza? Maybe you could find some tortilla chips and make yourself some cheesy nachos, or salsa chips. Or maybe you could find some lettuce or other veggies in the fridge and make yourself a salad? You don't have to eat pizza, you can always try to find something else. You can make it through this.

I'm weird and difficult. That only time I will eat something different then other people is like in treatment and when I'm at a restruant. Other than that I have to eat the same thing as family because I don't like being different or standing out with food.

I ate the three pieces of pizza and my stomach is turning because it knows it shouldn't be in there. My mouth is watering like it does before i throw up. But I'm trying not to purge.

You could try going for a walk after or getting some form of exercise? Whenever I feel I've eaten too much or just feel unhealthy after I've eaten something, doing some yoga or going for a walk makes me feel a little better about it.

I told my grandma about Pizza being a trigger food last night and she said I've never said anything before and i swear I have. But we aren't going to have pizza for a while.

Hey there,

I am glad your grandma agreed not to have your trigger food any longer. I think that is great. If you are ever confronted with anymore trigger foods I like Nicole's suggestion of going for a walk. It is a lot healthier then purging and it might make you feel better about the food you have consumed. Also, exercise can be a great distraction from things like purging. If you throw on some music and just take a 30 minutes walk you never know how it will make you feel.

You have to remember that you are stronger then the urges and you can beat this.

It's a good thing that your grandmas isn't going to have the trigger food around anymore. I like everyone else's suggestion about trying to distract yourself whenever you find yourself around trigger foods.

Have you thought about journaling or writing in a diary? It may help you out some, meaning that writing down whatever is bothering can really help in getting your negative thoughts/feelings out of your system and onto paper; it can be like a weight off your shoulders.
