Problem - August 21st 2018, 08:40 PM

I haven't eaten at all today. I love the feeling of being hungry, plus the fact that I could be skinnier if I don't eat. I ate just a nibble of a corner of a pizza, and I wanna barf it up. Is this a problem??

Hey Aiyanna,

When you have the feeling of wanting to throw up your food, whether it be a whole meal or just a bite of something it is a problem. I hate using the word normal so I won't but most people never feel the need to want to throw up their food. As for liking the feel of being hungry, is also something most people do not like.

I think before you said you have a therapist, if you do I would strongly recommend bringing this up to them, so they can help you or refer you to someone who specializes in disordered eating.

I know you don't want to eat, but as you are aware this isn't healthy at all. Maybe try eating a banana or some type of fruit if you have some at your house. Since that is healthy, and when you eat it try to not to purge it, but if you do it's okay don't beat yourself up. Maybe tell yourself you will wait five minute before you do it, then another five and see how long you make it. Then next time try to wait longer if you feel the need to purge.

I ate some junk food and feel sick, but I'm forcing myself to keep it down. It doesn't feel good but I want to get better. I'm gonna eat just a little bit of chicken for dinner.
