I need advice/help. One of my very close friends is having body image problems.
I'm not lying when I say she is not at all fat. She is athletic and is toned. She however is convince she has "flabby" areas and needs to tone. Whenever she is over at my house its a battle to get her to eat meals. I had to hide my scale because she would literally wake up 3-5 tims a night to weigh herself. She used to be so healthy. I dont want to see her detroying herself. Hi Kali. It seems to me that you're a really good friend and that you really care about her. I have friends who have body image issues and I understand how much it hurts to see them feel that way. You're doing a good job by encouraging her to eat meals. I think all you can do is be her support system and be there for her when she's at her low points. If you could get her to talk about her problems and feelings, I think that might help. If you feel that your friend is in serious danger then you could encourage her to talk to a counselor. Hope this helps.
