Please help now - October 19th 2010, 03:46 AM

My best friend was recently diagnosed with Body Dysmorphic Disorder and she just admitted to me she's been trying to throw up but it doesn't work. What do I do?

I either feel like no one cares, and that I should be breaking things, and that everything is falling apart, or that everything is great, and I can do anything, and I really do have friends.

I'm stuck halfway in between.

First of all, tell her that throwing up does not work! Because she was diagnosed with BDD, she should have either been put on medication or at least been offered professional help, if she wasn't...well I dont know but she will need a lot of support from you ad her other friends. Throwing up can kill her and she needs to know that. Also, maybe tell her parents, i know that if you aren't that close with someone that can be hard, but you should tell someone you trust and that she knows well.
