Feeling kind of down - June 9th 2011, 11:23 PM

So.. I've gained a little weight. And that honestly just makes me want to go back to restricting and working out.. I know I'm over weight.. The thing is, I think that I'm pretty. So the question is, shouldn't that be enough? Why do I feel like I need to be skinny? I mean, I should lose some weight for the sake of my health.. I just can't feel completely confident when my body looks like this. I don't even know why I am posting this.. I just.. idk. I just need some support right now?

so what if you gain weight... As long as you love you other people will too and I mean if you are soo big that it is a health risk then maybe eating healthier will help... But if you think you are pretty then girl you rock that with confidence nothing is wrong with it

Love your body, You are beautiful to God and you should think you are beautiful and it only matters what is on the inside anyway.

“Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.”

Well, not to be rude, but if it's dangerous to your health it will be good for you to lose some weight, or at least eat healthier/excersise more. Less about weightloss and more about a better lifestyle. You have good self confidence, that's great but it isn't an excuse to be overweight or unhealthy. As I said I don't mean to be rude, and I think living healthy is good for everyone. Unless you are the doctor says you are grossly obese I wouldn't worry about it too much though.

- Justin

Edit: In my post I didn't make it clear enough, I don't mean to say you aren't healthy, but it certainly is something to consider

"Buy it, use it, break it, fix it,
Trash it, change it, mail, upgrade it,
Charge it, point it, zoom it, press it,
Snap it, work it, quick, erase it,
Write it, cut it, paste it, save it,
Load it, check it, quick, rewrite it"

Edit to my original post.

I think I'm borderline overweight.. And I know I need to work out and eat better. Truthfully, I'm not in denial about that at all. It's just I struggle with bulimia/anorexia in the past, so it's easy to want to revert back to old habit. I'm conflicted between stopping eating and over working myself, and doing it healthy. I've been at this for like, five years and I moderate this forum so I know the health risks and all the better alternatives, etc. It doesn't make it any easier though.

Thanks for all your replies<3

Lyndseeee,

Oh gosh darn. I can't find my glasses so if there is typos within this, I apolgize in advanced.

I loove you so much, you are gergous. You have my Full support on this, and always will. Eating disorders as you and I both know are not an easy thing to deal with. You are strong tho and you can do this. I have faith in you on that much. You are at a bump in the road you just have to slowly drive over it. It would be pointless to give you a spewwl on all the health risks because you already know them like the back of your hand. Just know that you are forever loved by many and you can get through this.

Keep your chin up X
You know where to find me if you need me

Lynds,

First off, you know I'm always here to support you. And you know I think you're absolutely gorgeous. So, yes, as you put it, you are pretty.

I know how you feel right now. Well, not exactly, but I do get the idea. The way I see it, you have two roads ahead of you: the one where you restrict and purge and overexcise and do damage to your body trying to lose weight, or the one where you eat right and exercise properly and get yourself, if not thinner - because that's not always good - then healthier.

I won't bother telling you which one you should take, because you're smart enough to figure that out. I also know what it's like to have to choose - I know what it feels like to choose the wrong decision, and I know what it feels like to choose the right one. Yes, it's easy to go back to old habits, but you're stronger than that. You can get through this.

Just take little baby steps. (As opposed to big baby steps...? Anyway.) Start by going out for a walk each day, or by changing one meal a day so it's more healthy. Then you can work your way up to doing a healthy amount of exercise and eating healthier foods, and you'll feel better than if you go back into your old habits.

Have you tried talking to your counsellor about this? That might be a good place to start.

Anyway. Chin up. You're beautiful. <3

Thank you all so much for your responses.

I don't know.. it's just hard because.. I was going on a diet today, and I already failed.
It just sucks.. I just wish I had more motivation. Mom told me she'd motivate me not to eat..
Er... What kind of parent does that.
