What do I do?! -
September 15th 2011, 04:47 PM
Back, unfortunately.. :/ I'm relapsing pretty badly. My counselor said that if I don't get this under control I'll end up in the hospital soon. How in the world can I get myself to eat and keep it down without feeling so guilty?!

Just remember that eating isn't a bad thing
Everthing I see seems to be a lie. And everything you see in me you think is the truth. But, really all you see is what I'm masking the real me with. You never see me cry. Because I'll never let you. And you'll never see me die because I feel like I already have in a way.

Use the fact that you would potentially have to go to the hospital as motivation to NOT relapse. If you keep this up, you'll have to go to the hospital involuntary. My suggestion is that you voluntarily go to the hospital to get help. It seems scary, and it is, but it's very helpful. I've been to inpatient before, and I was so happy I went. It's better to voluntarily check yourself in because you CHOOSE it, rather than being forced into it. So back to your original question- how can I eat without feeling guilty? No one said recovery would be easy. For a while you're going to feel guilty. Is your counselor helping you to come up with ideas on how not to feel guilty post meals? Remeber that food is what's keep you alive. Not all food is bad. Try just eating the healthy stuff. Also remember that not relapsing is getting you that much closer to recovery. After you eat, maybe call a friend or do something to distract yourself from relapsing. If you get through an urge, you will be so proud of yourself! Just always look forward. That's the best you can do. Take care <3

This is your path to recovery. At first, you will feel guilty. You have to overcome that guilt. Talk with you counselor for ways to overcome the guilt. And take your counselor's word as a motivation (like Linds said). Whenever you feel guilty and decide to not eat, remind yourself that you might have to go to the hospital if you continue doing to this to yourself.
If you are getting worse. Go to the hospital yourself. You wanna get better, don't you? So go to the hospital. No bad will happen. |
