I Don't Know... - January 21st 2012, 10:31 PM

I'm developing bulimia. I purged for the first time last week and have binged nonstop since then. I kept trying to purge what I binged but I never could make it come back up, and now I'm just worried that my binging will get out of control and I'm gonna get fat -_- what do I do?

Have you considered talking to an adult about this?

Its ok, Ive dealt with what you have. Reasons for bingeing are things like, feeling emotional, boredom, self loating, etc. Try and found out whats making you do this, it'll be a lot easier to find a solution when you have a rough idea of the cause. Dont worry, you will get better, PM me anytime you need help xox

Purging is REALLY dangerous. You can damage your teeth, stomach, esophagus and most importantly, your heart.

I am currently coming off a month long purging streak. (it's something I had under control before but stress brought it back) As a result, I was having heart palpitations, my throat was raw, my teeth were constantly sensitive... It was terrible.

Focus on eating healthy meals that fill you up for a long time. Fruits, vegetables, whole grains etc. See a dietitian or nutritionist if you won't go to a doctor.

Failing that, eat healthy meals and keep yourself busy so you can't purge. My therapist suggested taking a nap, going for an easy walk or taking a bubble bath.

If you need someone to talk to, my PM box is always open.

If you don't feel like you can talk to anyone about this, then you should stop before it gets out of hand. And trust me, it will. Bulimia is a form of self harm. And having known you the little that I do, self harm is addicting. So, bulimia is addictive too. And sooooo many healthy problems are associated as well. The thing about Bulimia is- you don't lose weight from it. You stay at the weight you are, if not gain more. The reason being is that when you eat so much and then purge it out, you're actually back to where you started. You don't lose or gain anything, essentially remaining neutral. If you want to lose weight, the best way to do it is by eating healthy and exercising healthy as well. I know you've probably heard this before, but it's the truth.

Eating disorders are excruciatingly painful in every way. Physically (for your specific disorder), you're throat will burn, after a while everything you try to eat, you're body will automatically purge because it's so used to doing it. You'll develop ulcers and burn off stomach lining. And the mental pain? Far outweighs the physical pain. The intense fear and want to be perfect in every single way possible. The way you set such high standards for yourself, and then fail because of yourself. The way everything is over thought, and over analyzed. It's horrible. It's not worth it. It's not really something that I would ever want to see you go through. You're worth more than that. You don't need the pain. You don't need to suffer through one more thing on top of all the other things.

Please, really consider what I've said. <3
And I'm more than willing to talk to you if you ever need to talk<3

I was looking for a breath of life
For a little touch of heavenly light
But all the choirs in my head say, no oh oh
