nasea and dizzyness etc after eating ?! - April 21st 2012, 07:12 PM

So lately i've been etting this TERRIBLE nasea after eating. i don't actually puke, but i sit on the bathroom floor waiting to its pretty bad. i also get really dizzy and light-headed. its not fatty crap either. this morning i had a piece of toast and some eggs . sure enough, for three hours i was going crazy with nasea. and for lunch i had a salad with a little olive oil dressing. sure enough i'm experiencing it again.

this may or may not be rellavent ... i am trying for the second time to recover from my eating disorder (anorexia binge-purge type) . so basically, i have been eating bigger portions and more food than i'm used to... but i eat slowly. i haven't over-eaten on an empty stomach ...

its impossible for me to be pregnant. no, i'm not a virgin. but i havent had sex unprotected EVER and its been like 3 months, plus i took a test to be extra sure.

i know i should go see my doctor, and plan on getting an appointment soon... but any idea what this could be?

i am on amytryptiline for migraines, but i've been on it for months with no problems

i've heard it could be stress related. but surprisingly i've been less stressed out ever since i started trying to recover. nothing major is happenin other than my ed of course .

also, i never feel hungry ?. on a small salad for lunch i would normally grab an apple by now for a snack, but i feel REALLY full even though i didnt eat very much...

i'm not sure what's related to what but any ideas ?
i'm trying to eat healthy . slowly gain weight back. oh and i haven't purged since thursday . anyways, tonight my dad and i are making dinner and it is quite calorie/carb/cheese/seafood filled . were making shrimp ravioli with cheesey sauce(he obviously doesn't know about the ED) and i'm wondering if maybe this could be ... problematic .

any advice appreciated! thanks

I wanna fly. So I do gymnastics instead.

I'll just keep holding on to what i believe and oh I believe in you. Give me the strength for the fight and the heart to believe cause I've got to believe in you. I feel so alive.

If you have gone a long time with not eating often or not eating a good portion, then the next time you try to eat a decent portion, you are going to feel sick.

You need to slowly increase your food intake. Basically, your stomach is very small right now, and you are over stuffing it. Even if you eat slow. Your stomach is just not able to hold the amount of food it should be able to. So slowly increase your food intake. Do not eat until you feel sick. Stop before then.

It's also normal that you don't feel hungry. Your body is used to not eating so it won't feel hungry until you've nearly starved (not to the point of dying, but to the point it is unhealthy for your stomach).

You should set up a schedule to eat and certain portions. So say 9am have one bowl of cereal. If you are still hungry, do a quarter of another bowl.

12pm eat one sandwich. Again, if still hungry, eat only half of another sandwich so you don't over eat.

4pm have a small snack such as one or two scoops of ice cream, or a handful of chips or even an orange.

6pm one scoop of hamburger helper and one piece of garlic bread.

Again, all of this is just examples. But portion out the food and have specific times. Usually after one or two weeks, your body will get used to the schedule and at say 9am you will be wanting food.
