ball in ear lobe? - June 11th 2012, 06:14 AM

I was trying to put my earrings back in my ear after having to take them out for surgery and I couldn't poke the earring through the ear hole so had my mom help and she couldn't either, but in the middle of it, I heard/felt a loud pop. Now, I can't get the earring through and there's a ball or bulge in my ear lobe where the earring should go.

What could it be? How to fix it? Do, you think it needs to be re-pierced?

Hey there Bri, sorry to hear your having some earring problems
Depending on how long your earrings were out for surgery, your ear piercing may have closed up. Of course, I'm not a medical professional, so I'm no 100% sure, but you might watch it for a couple of days and see if it gets infected or not.
Of course, if you get worried, or can't fix the problem, then you can always go to a doctor for advice.
Hope I helped!

The popping that you heard was the post of the earring being pushed through some skin that had grown back while your earrings were out.
The bump is probably due to having said earring being forced through it. Do some sea salt soaks every day and the bump should disappear soon, and then try and get the earring through again.

And here you are living, despite it all.
