How do i eat healthy? - June 14th 2012, 02:33 PM

I dont consider myself fat but I definitely eat a veryyy unhealthy diet.
I eat a lot of baked goods and ice cream and stuff like that and i very rarely eat fruits or vegetables.
I have a very hard time controlling myself when theres unhealthy food, and there really always is in my house and places I go.
Any advice you have would be great

PM me if you need anything Except ice cream. I never share my ice cream

Hey there,

Eating healthier does not mean that you have to get rid of the yummy, unhealthy food in your life, but just increase the healthy food and lower the amount of unhealthy food you eat. For starters, you said you barely eat any fruits and vegetables. Why don't you start? Example, a good way to start your day is some vanilla yogurt with berries, it's very delicious, and also gives you a good serving of fruit with a healthy serving of dairy as well. What about just adding a salad to both your lunch and dinner? These are small changes, but they can make a huge difference in your health and how your digestion feels.

Another thing is to just eat less of the bad stuff. A good idea is to check out serving size. If a serving size of chips/crisps, for example, is 13 chips, just eat that much. If it helps, start separating the chips earlier in a separate bowl when you eat them rather than eating them from the bag. Then with cake or ice cream, only allow yourself one piece of cake or one bowl of ice cream. You don't have to give up the foods you love, but just lowering the amount you eat is a great start!

You can find out more simple tips from our Guide to Healthy Eating. I warn you, though, there are some calorie numbers, so if that's something that triggers you, I would not use this guide. But it's a good overview of a few things to keep in mind.
