Urinary Tract Infection - July 27th 2012, 06:44 PM

So to start off I am a boy. A couple years ago I had a surgeory on my penis because of a birth defect. And ever since every once in a while when I would pee I would have pain. Also I would be in general discomfort from pain I would have from my penis. SOmtimes if I drank a ton of water it would help. Then I begain to think it might be a uninary infection but ive had it for 3 years? Im not sure what it is. I have not told my doctors because I thought that it was just a side affect fro the surgery. Im not sure what to do.
Note: From the surgery the tip of the penis were pee comes out if bigger.

A side effect from the surgery is also my guess. Urinary tract infections wouldn't persist like that for three years. But I would definitely talk to a doctor about it, and make sure to mention how long it's been going on and that you think it might be linked to the surgery. That way, they won't mistake it for a UTI.

If you're having pain and discomfort when urinating you really should have told your doctors when this started since it could have been a side effect from the surgery and I'm sure the doctors would have wanted to know.

I suggest you go in and tell your doctor what's happened and describe your symptoms. You may have to provide a urine sample so they can check for any infections.
