Addison's anyone? - August 13th 2012, 02:41 AM

I'll be tested for Addison's disease soon due to some results from recent bloodwork. Originally we were trying to figure out why I apparently have some severe bone degeneration going on, which I guess could be linked to adrenal gland malfunction, but I'm not sure if that's true or if it's a whole new set of possible problems!

Anyway, just wondered if anyone out there has any experience with Addison's disease. I know it's rare (like 1 in 100,000) but figured I'd give it a try. I'm interested in things like common symptoms other than the extremes I find listed in general information articles. Also if osteoporosis can be linked to it? I can only get so much info from the internet before it gets repetitive, so personal experiences would be nice.

I won't be tested for a while yet, so I've got some time to ponder/research/worry about it still.

Take Care!

My sister has it. They didn't find it until she was in crisis, so she could have died. Her biggest symptom is vomitting. I think it's more common than they think, I'm going to be tested for it as is my mother because we both have symptoms. My regular doctor did the test wrong so I have to see and endocrinologist. My sister has to wear one of those medical bracelets at all times ecause of it.
